Good morning everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend! Yesterday, I challenged you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. A few hours after writing that, I attempted to play basketball with the youth at my church. I’m really awful at anything except getting in your way. But, I made a fool of myself playing ball which is definitely outside my comfort zone, and got several pointers as to how to actually hold the ball when you are trying to shoot it. Apparently your left hand is only there as a guide. Who knew? (Actually, probably everyone who has ever held a basketball except me.)
Anyways, I also went to a crawfish boil yesterday afternoon, put on by the professor that I work for. It had been forever since I had eaten crawfish and I would like it to be known, there is far too much work put into eating those things for the amount that you get out. Seriously. It tasted great, was well seasoned, there was a ton of food but is far too much work. And, I don’t actually like the crawfish part, just the flavoring, which the crawfish are vessels for, and the veggies. The corn was fabulous.
Speaking of veggies, I don’t think I have said this but I am growing herbs and am really excited because I have successfully sprouted herbs from seeds! I think my dad got a picture every day for a week because I just kept having little baby plants pop up and I was really excited. Yesterday, I harvested the dill and cilantro for the first time! The plants were getting too long and too heavy so they needed trimming back. I didn’t have anything to do with all the dill I got, so I decided to try to dry the herbs out. This is the starting photo and I will keep you updated on how they do! Also, if you have any tips as to how to keep my herbs alive and well, they will be much appreciated.
Sorry, I know this post was a bit longer than normal but thank you for bearing with me. I hope y’all have a super awesome Monday and we will chat tomorrow!
