30 Day Challenge - Day 29

One day left of my challenge. That is so exciting! I am so proud of myself for getting this far. So yesterday was, as every Wednesday has been for me for the past while, chapter for my sorority. But, unlike normal, we had our event for graduating seniors. It was super sweet, my adorable twin gave me a sweet gift and I cried when people kept telling me how much they loved me and will miss me. [caption width="4032" align="aligncenter"] Look at my pretty little badge and the tiny alumni pin I got tonight!![/caption] If we are being 100% honest, I almost didn't join Sigma Kappa. And after I did, I almost dropped like 5 times. But, I decided to stick it out and somehow, at some point, made an impact on people - some of which I think I have spoken to a grand total of 3 times all year. I just want you (I am assuming people are still reading at this point, but who knows? Maybe someone is still reading my corner of the internet. Maybe everyone got bored and ditched me after day 2. Wow, that is a sad thought. Moving on...), I want you to know that what you do, what you say, the smile you wear, the tears you share, has an impact on the people around you. You might not feel it, you might not see it, and you may never know who but people watch you and know you and love you and suport you from the sidelines. I don't say this to make you self-consious, I don't say this to make you question everything in your life (graduation does that all on it's own and doesn't need my help 😊), I say this because it is true. When I graduated high school, when I left my last 3 jobs, and now as I leave Sigma Kappa at UA, I am reminded that we are not islands meant to live life alone. We are called to live as examples of who Christ is and how He has changed us. People notice. Not because you do something flashy. Not because you do something big. Simply because you love. Sorry for getting all sappy on you. Apparently graduation approaching has me feeling all the feels (as the cool kids say). Anyways, I want you to take today and tell someone that has had am impact on you - preferably a peer or someone younger than you - that they have had an effect on your life. Seriously, go love on someone today just because you can. I'll see you tomorrow to end my challenge!!

30 Day Challenge - Day 28

My challenge is coming to an end and is getting harder to complete this week. I have meetings for quite a bit of the day for the rest of the week because senior projects are all due either this week or next. We were going to go to the gym yesterday but both rec centers were closed for Staff Appreciation Night so that didn't happen. We are going to try again on Thursday. Last night, I was given a super sweet senior gift from Sigma Kappa with tons of stuff INCLUDING A MINI WAFFLE IRON! How cute is that?!?! I'm so excited to get to use it! Sorry for the late night post again but I forgot to post earlier this morning. I hope your Wednesday has been fabulous and that your Thursday starts off well too!!

30 Day Challenge - Day 27

I have 18 days left until I graduate undergrad. That is crazy. It feels like junior year just started. Freshman year feels like it was four years ago but the last two seem to have flow by. Yesterday, the university put on their annual Senior SendOff where seniors get to go on the field at Bryant-Denny and take photos. Georgia and I went, ran into several friends while there, and took a few pictures. And by a few, I mean I have 387 pictures on my phone and Georgia has about 20 more on her phone. Man, am I glad to have digital cameras and not film cameras anymore. It was so bright outside that it was hard to see the screen a lot of times which resulted in me just hitting the button about 15 times trying to get a photo that looked right. Also, I would like it to be noted that the 3 years of yearbook in high school taught me how to take a half-way decent photo of people and I am kinda proud of that. Anyways, wanna see some photos? I hope your answer was yes because you are getting photos regardless :) (But not too many photos because Georgia doesn't want me posting all her photos before she does). This was the face I made anytime someone walked behind us and messed up the background of our photos. "Oh, but what if you fly?" 18 days till I have 0 commitments. That is terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. I can do whatever I want with the world at my finger tips but at the same time, I can do basically anything which makes narrowing that search down a bit difficult. If you have any clue how to narrow that search down, help would be much appreciated. Y'all have a great Tuesday!

30 Day Challenge - Day 26

I think I am caught up on posts now. Yay! Let's see if I can stay on the ball for the next four days. Okay, so if you read Day 25 , you know that Georgia and I went to New Orleans on Saturday and had a 6 hour drive home. If you didn't read Day 25 , you should go read it - we had a lot of fun! Anyways, that 6 hour drive put us home somewhere between 4 and 4:30 am on Sunday. It was exhausting. Both of us slept through our alarms, missed church and woke up somewhere around noon (I think Georgia might have woken up before me but I drove most of the way so I was really wiped). The rest of the afternoon was spent doing housework and running errands. Since Youth got canceled, we took our time out and about and both of us purchased some new athletic gear. I realized, after pulling my athletic shorts out the other day to run, that I haven't purchased new shorts since high school and the ones I own have gotten a bit tight, quite short, and less comfortable. So, along with groceries and some of the personal products we needed, like shampoo - I have been out for like 5 days and I can't go any longer without washing my hair. It is so gross - we also got athletic gear and dog food - Faith eats a lot for being so lean. When we got home, Georgia taught me how to make stir-fry and homemade egg-rolls (minus the egg part so I don't know what that actually makes them). It was so exciting!! A couple of my egg rolls exploded in the oils as we were frying them so we lost like 3 but most of them held. I was (still am honestly) so proud of myself! And it was really good. If you haven't had homemade egg rolls, not a big deal but you need to try to make them and eat them ASAP. Game changers man. Great snack they just take a while to prepare. Yum. Look at those beautiful, golden, homemade creations. Doesn't dinner just look fabulous? And I ate the whole thing with my fingers or the chopsticks! Note: Please ignore the ketchup container in the background. It just lives on our table. If you put it away, it is back within a day. I blame the gremlins. Okay, now that I am all caught up on my 30 day challenge posts, I am going to sign off and head to bed. Wait no, scratch that, I am going to wash my hair and then go to bed. I have had far too many late nights this weekend to keep staying up past midnight. 30 Day Challenge - Day 25

So I am apparently two days behind in my posts. It has been a bit of a crazy weekend for me and this week is quite full as well. Two senior project final presentations has me in meetings all week. Anyways, we are talking about Saturday. Georgia and I purchased tickets several months ago to go see Cinderella on Broadway in New Orleans for Saturday. It just so happened that this past weekend was also French Quarter Fest in NOLA as well. As such, the whole city, specifically the French Quarter, was swarming with people - well, more than it is normally swarming with people on a random Saturday. It was Georgia's first time visiting anywhere in South Louisiana including NOLA so we decided to go down earlier than we had to for the play. We chose to just kinda wander around, eat some really good food, drink some popular drinks, and just have a nice day. Apparently I forgot to take a picture of my dinner and any of the bands playing so here is a lovely photo of the French Quarter Festival sign. After dinner, we headed to the theater and, after calling our third roommate to have her pull our dogs inside - we had tornado warnings and awful weather in Tuscaloosa - we got to watch Cinderella. It was so, so good. I really have no clue how they made Cinderella's dress transform as beautifully and magically as they did. It was incredibly impressive. The musical is a slightly different story than the Disney movie but not in a bad way. It was just different. The theater we were in is the Saenger Theater in New Orleans and it was quite beautiful as well. Georgia wouldn't take a picture of me in front of the sign before we went in to the theater and then it was raining when we left so I didn't get a picture in front of the sign. Please ignore the tree in front of the sign. It was really windy and the tree would not cooperate. It absolutely poured cats, dogs, the kitchen sink, and every single kitchen appliance as we were leaving NOLA so the 4 hour drive back home was almost 6 hours but it was so worth it. We had a great day, saw a wonderful performance, and just had an all around enjoyable time. And we even got our daily run in for the day before we hit the road in the morning! What a success!
