30 Day Challenge - Day 4

Day 4 of my challenge happened to be the same day I took senior photos. I'm so excited to graduate so, while that isn't my exciting, relaxing, or new thing that I have done, I feel like it is worth noting. I mentioned yesterday that we were celebrating my roommate's 22 birthday today. We had a ton of fun and danced and sang along with country singer Frank Ray at a local bar. However, even though I told myself I was not going to forget to take photos before we left, I forgot to take photos before we left. So instead, here is one of the senior photos of my roommate and I. My next goal I am going to work on is taking photos at every event that I go to. I am awful at remembering to take photos because I am really good at remembering events. The catch is, only I can see the photos in my head. So, if I want to share a memory with someone, I have to verbally explain it which works sometimes, but sometimes you just need a picture. I am going to work on taking photos for everything I do that fits this challenge. No promises, but that is my secondary challenge for myself - take photos regularly. Okay, I had better sign off before I try to tackle too many things at once. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

30 Day Challenge - Day 3

Yesterday was a day full of crafting at my house here in Tuscaloosa. My roommate and I spent the evening decorating our graduation caps, doing our nails, and getting everything ready for our senior photos this morning. Graduation is 41 days away!! So exciting and kinda scary at the same time. I'm not sharing the finished product yet - I want the full photos to come in first, but here is the before picture of our kitchen table and a sneak peak of our caps from pictures this morning. Tonight, we are going out to celebrate my roommate's birthday! I am incredibly excited to celebrate with friends tonight and just have fun! Since this challenge is all about exploring what I have fun doing and what I love to do, that will be my Day 4 activity! Now I just have to remember to get pictures tonight. Have a great Saturday!

30 Day Challenge - Day 2

I got home late last night so this post is a bit late getting up. Yesterday (Day 2 of my challenge), was a beautiful day here in Tuscaloosa and I kept contemplating taking my hammock down to the river and trying to figure out how to set it up - disclaimer: I have had my hammock for like 8 months now, but haven't used it yet. But, I had a lot of house work that needed doing so that might be an activity for next Monday or Tuesday, we will see. Anyways, yesterday I was required to go to a wind ensemble concert for class. I was reminded while watching the concert that I absolutely love live music. Growing up, my grandparents had season tickets to the Austin Symphony, so I remember them always going to that. I got to go to New York in middle school and saw a Broadway play which sparked my love for watching live theater. But, I haven't seen a concert by an ensemble or orchestra in several years and I was reminded last night that I absolutely love them. There is just something so amazing about the story and emotions that can be told through music, told without ever having a word spoken, that is incredible to me. UA Wind Ensemble So, that was my enjoyable thing that I did for day 2 - I went and watched part of our band at UA perform and it was great. Not sure what I am doing for day 3 but I still have most of the day left to figure that out. Have a happy Friday!

30 Day Challenge - Day 1

Day 1 of my 30 day challenge to myself to do something I love everyday is almost over. Today, some friends and I went climbing at the rec center on campus. I successfully completed several problems and got further than before on several others. All together, it was an enjoyable and relaxing time that I got to spend doing something I enjoy, something that is physically good for me, and with people I like. Day 1, complete! Now to finish up some homework before class tomorrow.
